If we wanted to say which were the two most appreciated speeches - short - of the magical presentation evening of the V "Osservatorio Moda e Donna" organized by "Foglio della Moda" with the collaboration of PwC Italia on the backstage of the Piccolo Teatro Strehler , granted for the first time by the new general director Lanfranco Li Cauli, we would say that of the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, Tommaso Sacchi who, in the face of very discouraging data on the willingness of Italian fashion companies to apply effective inclusion policies have proven to be, and this is an understatement, quite reluctant (so yes, the prizes went to companies that follow virtuous practices), and that of Sofia Marinov, the student in AI disciplines at Bocconi University, winner of one of the STEM degree calls of the last edition. The enthusiasm of a twenty-year-old “for the new”, the “desire to know the future” and if possible “to contribute to it”, gave a jolt to the hundred guests, who included the heads of all the fashion associations, stylists, entrepreneurs, banks, as well as a large representation of the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala and the Piccolo Teatro itself: “Fashion has the bad habit of looking only at its own system, without ever realizing that “outside” there are plenty of smart kids who have things in mind other than the latest bag” , said one of the guests, whose name we cannot reveal because we care about her permanence in the company where she works. In reality, it is an unfair and in any case partial judgment, given that one of this year's winning companies has put cultural policies at the center of its communication agenda. Here, in fact, are the winners of this edition.

For the category “C-Suite. Female presence in top roles” , Moncler , with the following motivation: “The female component on the Board of Directors is equal to 40 percent. In the company, 41 percent of top management is female, 52 percent of managers are women out of the total management, and furthermore 56 percent of junior managers out of the total junior managers are women, while women in revenue-generating functions are equal to 55 percent”. Furthermore, “women in STEM positions are equal to 61 percent, and the total female population is equal to 70 percent. Moncler also offers support for parenting through benefits such as greater flexible hours and additional leave for the child’s needs for the first three years after birth. Two years ago, it presented the new global policy for new parents, New Parents Policy, which offers all employees, regardless of gender, marital status or sexual and emotional orientation, sixteen weeks of fully paid parental leave”. The award, presented by last year's winner Carolina Cucinelli, was collected by Mina Piccinini, chief quality development and innovation officer of Moncler .

For the second category, “work-family balance” , the Eurojersey Spa award was won, a prize collected by the human resources manager Luigina Caccia: since 2008, the Caronno Pertusella company has undertaken a structured welfare path that promotes a virtuous balance between private and working life: constant free psychological support for employees and families; supplementary health insurance; canteen with balanced meals and slow food products, company gym, pilates courses, osteopathy. It has also introduced flexible hours, smart working, subsidized part-time, company bonuses for results and assiduity; a benefit platform worth 250 euros per year that can be spent on services for family, culture and mobility . From this year, Eurojersey, creator of the registered trademark Sensitive Fabrics, is smoke-free. Ex-aequo, with nine votes each, are the winners of the third category, “Empowerment. Cultural policies for the development of female careers”.

The first award went to Miu Miu , a prize given to Rosa Santamaria, chief people officer of the Prada group, for the “Literary club” project which aims to consolidate the dialogue between fashion and contemporary culture, exploring the themes of female education also in relation to love, desire and sexual education, and bringing the work of contemporary and historical novelists and philosophers to the attention of the younger generations (who cares if lots of girls queue up because Simone de Beauvoir's books are branded with the logo: the time will come when they will open them and that is what we are waiting for); the second award went to the Tuscan company Albatros Pelletterie , with much applause for its founder Roberta Ghini, who has never missed a single opportunity to improve the lives of her employees and re-insert those who have lost their jobs into the employment circuit. This year, Albatros has also joined the New Skills Fund 3, with the aim of raising awareness among employees on the sustainability of production processes and the use of resources to introduce employees to the fundamental principles of the circular economy, sustainable development, to understand the importance of reducing waste within the production cycle and implementing daily practices aimed at minimizing the environmental impact and personal empowerment. The last award, established this year to strengthen the historical knowledge of Made in Italy entrepreneurs is named after Rosa Genoni, and was assigned to Nicoletta Spagnoli , CEO of the family business born from the will and commitment of her great-grandmother, Luisa Spagnoli.

The jury of the “Donne e Moda” award is composed of Erika Andreetta, partner PwC Italia luxury Goods, Fulvia Bacchi, general manager UNIC and CEO of Lineapelle, Rosalba Benedetto, vice president of Banca IFIS, Simona Olga Binetti, president of the School of Sciences, University of Milan-Bicocca, Carlo Capasa, president of the National Chamber of Fashion, Giovanna Ceolini, president of Confindustria Fashion Accessories, Roberta Cocco, senior advisor of Clessidra Private Equity, Maurizio Dallocchio, full professor of finance, Bocconi University, Gianfranco Di Natale, general manager of Confindustria Moda, Antonio Franceschini, National Manager of CNA Federmoda, Fabiana Giacomotti, costume historian, curator of “Il Foglio della Moda”, Stefania Lazzaroni, general manager of Altagamma, Gianbattista La Rocca, CEO of NTVspa, Elvira Marasco, founder of the Italian Delegation W20, Elena Salvaneschi, CEO of TheOne Milano, Claudia Sequi, president of Mipel and Assopellettieri, Roberto Tadini, president of AIP, Sergio Tamborini, president of Confindustria Moda and CEO of Ratti.
